Drive Yello

WordStorm PR helped this early stage start-up take advantage of interest from investors and clients by telling the world about it at a key period in its growth.

Drive Yello is an innovative Sydney-based start-up and successful graduate of Telstra’s muru-D accelerator program. Yello is an outsourcing and logistics platform that matches up food delivery drivers with fast food chains, restaurants and cafes. Booking a delivery driver for a shift is now as easy as grabbing an Uber.

WordStorm PR jumped on what was current in the news – the sharing economy – and offered Drive Yello’s CEO for interview to discuss how start-ups such as Yello are providing more Australians jobs. This piece was syndicated across mass media Australia-wide. WordStorm elevated the brand’s credibility by tapping into the Co-Founders’ business story and finding the human interest element, that the boys had come up with the concept over wines one Halloween when Johnny’s delivery drivers all called in sick.

By reaching out to mass media as well as niche trade press, we ensured the PR activity reached Yello’s ideal customers, drivers, potential investors and associates. When Drive Yello partnered with Menulog, we ensured business press were the first to know, positioning the brand as one to watch. In a period of six months, we secured close to 100 pieces of media coverage including articles in the Australian Financial Review, Sydney Morning Herald, The Australian, Sky News, and News.com.au.

Sarah and the team at WordStorm were awesome to work with and were a perfect match for Drive Yello as we began our brand building journey.

We were going through a steep growth curve in our early days, with lots of interest from investors and clients. WordStorm helped us take advantage of this activity by ensuring the world knew about us through plenty of coverage in both mainstream and trade press. We really enjoyed working with Sarah & Monica and are thankful for their support and contribution to our success.
