mCareWatch

An eight minute story on morning television led to a game-changing business partnership for this Australian start-up.

mCareWatch is an Australian company which has created the latest technology to provide market leading assisted living, mobile health and telecare solutions. Its remote care giving technology helps older people live independently for longer. The mCareWatch medical or emergency alert device and personal emergency alarms are the ‘next generation’ of PERS combining mobile phone, GPS, Wi-Fi, GSM, two-way voice, Cloud and other technology to deliver a whole new level of care for the elderly, disabled and people with special needs.

WordStorm PR identified a strong, newsworthy angle in relation to Dementia Awareness Month in September and the release of the SOS Mobile Watch. We pitched the angle to The Today Show, which resulted in an eight minute story and in-studio interview with the mCareWatch founders. This exposure led to a partnership that transformed the business and led to a massive spike in sales and enquiries in the days that followed.

A number of different angles focusing on Christmas, a comparison of the SOS Mobile Watch and the traditional emergency pendant and the business story about mCareWatch resulted in 47 clippings across print, online and radio. The product featured in The Age, The West Australian, Weekend Today, Startup Smart, Tech Guide, and NewsLocal.

“The opportunities that came out of this PR campaign for mCareWatch were priceless.  The campaign highlight was the TV story from which we received leads that took our business to another level.”
