Our Top Ten Ways to Spend a Sunny Day in Sydney

In light of Sydney’s rising temperatures, we decided to compile our top ten list of ways to spend a sunny day in Sydney. Enjoy! 1. Get up close and personal with nature… The Spit Bridge to Manly Walk is a wonderful way to explore pockets of sub-tropical rainforest and swathes of bush land – lizards and snakes included! Plus, the panoramic views of Sydney Harbour are sure to take your breath away! 2. Test your sporting skills at barefoot bowls… Competitive streak? Us? Never! Well maybe a little when it comes to barefoot lawn bowls. Once a sport reserved only for the retirees among us, lawn bowls is now attracting many hip Gen Y’s. So kick off your thongs, grab a (cheap) cider and give it a whirl… you might even win! 3. Party by the pool… Whether you have a luxury infinity pool or a patched-up paddling pool, pull on your swimmers, turn up the speakers and jump right on in! 4. Tantalise your taste buds at a Gelato bar… Whether you’re hot for strawberry, melt for chocolate or anything in between, Gelato is a deliciously divine way to cool down. Buon appetito! 5. Seek out your inner adrenalin junkie… Become a tourist in your own city and jump on one of the exhilarating jet boat rides in the harbour. Fast, fearless and furious, these speedy boats are not for the faint-hearted! Reserve for a hot day as you’re guaranteed to get soaked! 6. Pack up your tent and go camping… Leave the hair straighteners at home and find a beautiful spot to camp in one of Sydney’s national parks. Don’t forget to bring marshmallows to roast over the fire and plenty of ghost stories! 7. Attempt to stand up on a surf board… People travel from all over the world to surf the Aussie waves, so why not hire a board and get stuck in. It’s heaps of fun and a great form of exercise! 8. Picnic at the Botanical Gardens… Pack some sandwiches, cupcakes and a big old picnic blanket and head to the Botanical Gardens – just beware of the bats! 9. Sun worship on the sand… We wouldn’t forget the beach now, would we?! Our current fave is the idyllic Camp Cove near Watsons Bay, a perfect place to lay down on the sand and watch the world go by. 10. And when it all gets too much… Camping out in an air conditioned room! We spent our Christmas party hiding from the humidity in a private karaoke room. The air conditioning was certainly more heavenly than our voices! Sophie and the WordStorm Team xxx
