Part of PR is generating buzz and getting people to talk about your brand. Just like companies, celebrities are also brands. We see them in the media constantly, whether they are promoting a new film, being snapped eating at a glitzy restaurant in public, inspiring new trends, and even inspiring us!
As you know, the Queen is currently in Australia – and her touchdown in Oz saw her on the front page of all the major newspapers. Celebrities are in demand, and (as much as you may not want to admit it), we are all interested in their personal lives (some more than others – me included),
We’ve complied a list of the most talked about celebs – ranging from paparazzi- friendly actors to influential leaders.
- The Royals
Whether it was Kate and Will’s faiytale nuptials, Sarah Ferguson’s bribery scandal or The Queen’s visit Down Under, the Royals always know how to make headlines. Their extremely traditional and conservative lifestyles depict them as elegant and posh, which is what makes them so appealing.
- Lady Gaga
We referred to her in a previous post as a ‘walking PR stunt’ and we still stand by this. Lady Gaga’s talent as a musician, combined with her crazy public stunts, which included showing up to an awards show in an egg, are just some of the reasons why Gaga is not only the most followed person on Twitter and liked person on Facebook, but also the most successful music artist today.

- MJ is still making headlines, even after his passing. Like Gaga, MJ was known as a musical genius, but also for his crazy antics (they didn’t call him Wacko Jacko for nothing!). His passing prompted 500 tweets per second ( a record at the time) and the news of his death crashed Twitter and Google.
- Brangelina
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are Hollywood’d most famous couple. Before their marriage, they were both famous in their own right – but together, combined with a cheating scandal (which included another mega star, Jennifer Aniston) and a whole bunch of children – and they are now a power couple. Known for their blockbuster movies, hectic family life and Angie’s deciation to charity, Brangelina know how to get the media’s attention!
- Dalai Lama
The spiritual leader of Tibetian people, almost everyone knows his three commitments – promoting human values, fostering inter-religious harmony and the welfare of the Tibetian people. He is one of the most well – known and respected figures in the world.
